Berlinale 2013, Side Effects World Premiere

The 63rd Berlinale is in full swing, actors, directors, writers and producers from all over the world are now in Berlin, to present their newest creations. Today the world premiere of the movie Side Effects took place at the Berlinale Palast Theater – Potsdamer Platz, actors Jude Law and Rooney Mara together with director Steven Soderbergh were part of the Event.

And because the movie was part of this years competition, this years international jury (Wong Kar Wai, Susanne Bier, Andreas Dresen, Ellen Kuras, Shirin Neshat, Tim Robbins and Athina Rachel Tsangari) was also on the guest list.

A Good Day to Die Hard World Premiere Berlin

Yippee ki-yay, M*th*rf*ck*r, it’s a good day to die hard.

Two days before the official start of the Berlinale 2013, the world premiere of A good Day to Die Hard (ger: Stirb langsam – Ein guter Tag zum Sterben) took place in Berlin. Jai Courtney (who plays John McClane son Jack), the German actor Sebastian Koch (who plays the Russian Komarov) and the one and only Bruce Willis together with his wife Emma Heming-Willis walked the carpet in the middle of the Sony Center, surrounded by hundreds of screaming fans.

Berlinale 2012, Bel Ami World Premiere Berlin

The World Premiere of the movie Bel Ami was held today at the Berlinale Palast – Potsdamer Platz as part of this year’s International Film Festival in Berlin. The story of Bel Ami chronicles journalist Georges Duroy’s corrupt rise to power from a poor ex-NCO to one of the most successful men in Paris, most of which he achieves by manipulating a series of powerful, intelligent, and wealthy mistresses.

Robert Pattinson, who plays the role of the main character “Georges Duroy”, as well as his Co-Stars Christina Ricci and Holliday Grainger walked the red carpet while giving autographs and taking pictures with their fans. Sadly, Uma Thurman canceled her flight this morning, she had an appointment for the new US-Series Smash and wasn’t able to attend today’s special event.

Berlinale 2012, The Iron Lady German Premiere

Another Day, another premiere, another Star, Meryl Streep was attending the German Premiere of The Iron Lady, a film about the life of Margaret Thatcher, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, for which she won a best actress BAFTA award in London two days ago, beside the golden globe she received for the same role earlier this year. She is also nominated for her third Oscar on February 26.

The premiere was hold today at the Berlinale Palast – Potsdamer Platz, with hundreds of fans, singing and cheering for their beloved actress.

Berlinale 2012, Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt, Cinema for Peace

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt together with the complete cast of her directorial debut “In The Land Of Blood And Honey” were attending the Cinema for Peace Gala at the Konzerthaus Am Gendarmenmarkt tonight during this year’s Berlinale. The movie was honored with the “Cinema for Peace Honorary Award for Opposing War and Genocide”.

The film is set in Sarajevo against the back drop of the Bosnian War that tore the Balkan region apart in the 1990’s. The movie tell the story of Danijel (Goran Kostić), a soldier fighting for the Bosnian Serbs, re-encounters Ajla (Zana Marjanović), a Bosniak woman he was involved with before the war, and who is now a captive in the camp he oversees.

Berlinale 2012, Don 2 German Premiere

Right now, Berlinale 2012 is all over the city and the world is guest in Berlin, actors, directors, journalists and of course, the fans. The Berlinale, Berlin’s International Film Festival, is not only the city’s largest cultural event, but also one of the most important dates on the international film industry’s calendar.

Today, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan (and his wife Gauri Khan) was attending the premiere of his new movie Don 2 – The King is back, together with Co-Star Priyanka Chopra at the Friedrichstadt-Palast Berlin.

Berlinale 2011, The Exhibition

Berlinale 2011 is over. During the last week 18 young photographers received the opportunity to experience working as professional photojournalists to show us this years Berlinale through their eyes, or should I say, through their cameras?

All the works were gathered at the C/O Berlin gallery and Dieter Kosslick himself opened the exhibition “Close Up!”.
