Cherry Blossom Festival Berlin

I’m a big fan of the Japanese Sakura Trees and their Cherry Blossom Festival but sadly I don’t have the time to travel 12 hours just to watch them bloom. So I visited the Japanese Garden of Berlin’s Gardens of the World and it seems that I wasn’t the only one who had that idea.

Sony Center’s Blue Garden

Christmas is near and what is Christmas without decorations. The City of Berlin has some really spectacular decorations this year and I want to start with Sony’s vision of a modern Christmas tree. The Sony Center, located at Berlin’s Potsdamer Platz, thought that, it needs something special to pull the attention of nearby visitors.

Berlin Pumpkin Art

There are many things you can do with pumpkins, you can carve them, decorate your home or your garden and of course you can eat them. A farmer in Klaistow, about 40km outside of Berlin, thought to do something special with his 100.000 pumpkins, but see for yourself:

Berlin Pumpkin Sale

Halloween is over, but Thanksgiving (Erntedankfest) is near, time to sell the remains of the big Pumpkin Harvest. Never seen so much different Pumpkins together. Thanksgiving in German Europe has a long tradition, but one that is different in many ways from that in North America.

Berlin’s Tropical Greenhouse Reopened!

The Main Tropical Greenhouse in Berlin’s Botanical Garden was reconstructed from 2006 until 2009 and is now again open to the public. After over 100 years, the technical equipment was obsolete and the framework was heavily damaged from rust, so the Greenhouse had to be refurbished.
