Berlin Christmas Bike Tour – Santa Claus on Road

The Christmas Bike Tour this year was a bit small, probably because the weather was just awful, but heavy rain can’t harm a real biker.

The Christmas Bike Tour is an annual event where hundreds of bikers, dressed in Christmas costumes, are driving through the city giving gifts, they have collected during the year, to poor children and social institutions.

Lady Gaga Wax Figure at Madame Tussauds Berlin

A wax figure of pop idol Lady Gaga was unveiled today at Madame Tussauds in Berlin and simultaneously, in seven other cities across the globe.

The figures, each dressed differently in celebration of the star’s provocative style, were created over four months in West London, with each one costing £150,000.

Berlin Street Art – MTV Headquarters

Since April 2004, the MTV-Germany headquarters are located at Berlin’s Osthafen (East Port) (which lies along the Spree in Friedrichshain.), right beside Universal Music and Hugo Boss. The main building was put under a monument protection a couple of years ago, but MTV has found a way to “pimp up” the boring-looking terrain.

Le Museum de Paris Bar

Three pieces of the Berlin Wall were placed in front of the famous Paris Bar in Berlin’s district Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf.

The Paris Bar is a place where artists, writers, journalist and film stars typically congregate and where Iggy Pop once gave a Rolling Stone journalist a blitzed interview that ended with him rolling around on the sidewalk out front. The French bistro has been a local favorite since it cheered up the postwar years in dismal bombed-out Berlin.

The pieces, each 3,60 meters high and 1,20 meters wide, were designed by the owner himself, of course, the owner of the Paris Bar, not the Berlin Wall.

Brandenburg Gate Fire Dancer

You will see a lot of stuff when you visit the Brandenburg Gate, even at night and while it’s getting cold outside and everyone is wearing their winter jackets, some brave fire dancers thought it would be interesting to deliver a fiery show, topless.
