According to some rumors, Apple will open a new store at Kurfürstendamm 26 in Berlin. It will be Apple’s flagship store in Germany with 5000 m² on 6 floors, so there will be plenty of space for every apple product ever made.
The building, once used by Microsoft as a showroom location, was one of the first true movie theaters in the city, opened in 1913 under the name Union Palace.
IFA 2011 is coming to an end, tomorrow will be the last chance to visit the world’s leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances.
The world’s most important and largest trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, IFA 2011, began on 2 September with a further 4 per cent increase in the rented display area and 1,441 exhibitors (+ 1%). Taking as its slogan this year “Get in touch”, it resumes its successful progress as it continues to consolidate its leading position in the world.
Surely I went there to see what’s new on the market and of course I took a couple of pictures to give you some impressions from this year’s trade show.
A new Museum just opened its doors in Berlin’s Karl-Marx-Allee, and it’s not one of those boring historical ones, the Computerspielemuseum or Computer Games Museum Berlin. Well, it’s about the history of gaming and it might be boring if you are not interested in Video Games… but if you are, it is really interesting and informative.
Our museum, which was opened in Berlin in 1997, was the world’s first permanent exhibition devoted to digital interactive entertainment culture. Since then, we have documented the development of the medium at over 30 national and international events.
You are invited on an entertaining expedition to meet the game players of the 21st century. Numerous rare original exhibits, playable classic games and assorted media productions help you exploring the world of “Homo Ludens Digitalis”.
Anyway, if you have a liking in video games and want to know more about the creation of the Comodore64 and the invention of Apple’s first personal computer, you should pay it a visit.
The topic of this years IFA (International Electronics Fair) was obviously 3D. 3D with glasses, 3D without glasses, 3D on your TV, your gaming console and your cinema screen.
You might say, 3D isn’t even new, it’s at least 1 year old, because Avatar was shown in 3D in 2009. But now, it has moved from the big screen to your TV and in some rare cases, even without wearing glasses.
And because everyone looks funny wearing these specs, let me show you some pictures so you can familiarize with it, because you will see them a lot more in the future, maybe.
Christmas is near and what is Christmas without decorations. The City of Berlin has some really spectacular decorations this year and I want to start with Sony’s vision of a modern Christmas tree. The Sony Center, located at Berlin’s Potsdamer Platz, thought that, it needs something special to pull the attention of nearby visitors.
The Funkturm or Radio Tower is a transmitting tower in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district in Berlin. The 150 m high Tower which was built between 1924 and 1926 is part of the Berlin trade fair ground and a protected monument.
At night, the Tower shines in a wonderful white or sometimes in orange, during the Festival of Lights, he was also covered with red bulbs.
Once again, the IFA, Europe’s biggest exhibition for Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances, takes place in Berlin. Now everyone is talking about new releases, inventions and technologies. I decided to give you some information about their new products but also a look at the fascinating decorated exhibition halls.
Sony‘s products were placed around a big main hall, in the middle you could chill and watch their laser show on six big screens. Sony came up with their new 10 frames per second Cybershot, an advanced live view for SLR cameras the PS3 in 3D, the new BRAVIA Mode, HD camcorders and a couple of small things like electronic picture frames.
