The Airlift Monument located at the Platz der Luftbrücke and designed by Eduard Ludwig is a Monument for the Victims of the Airlift happened during 1948 and 1949 in Berlin and sometimes it’s also a good spot to observe its territory.
This German Movie Premiere was different, for the first time, the director was as famous as the cast itself. Quentin Tarantino’s newest Movie Django Unchained celebrated its German Premiere today, of course, at the Sony Center Potsdamer Platz in Berlin.
The American western tells the story about a freed slave who treks across America together with a bounty hunter, on a mission to rescue his wife.
Quentin Tarantino himself was present, together with Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington. Leonardo DiCaprio was absent due to an urgent appointment.
The year 2012 is almost over and it was amazing, with lots of movie premieres, fairs, flash mobs and of course, events. Many stars and artists visited Berlin, we celebrated the 775th anniversary and st patrick’s day, the new airport got delayed till 2013, the earth hour took place again this year and the Coca Cola Christmas Trucks were back in town.
But that’s not all, I’ve listed up some of the most interesting articles from the previous 12 months, so if you’ve missed something, take a look, some of these events will be back in 2013 and some of them will never happen again. But whatever happens in 2013, I wish you all the best and stay frosty!
The Coca Cola Christmas Trucks were in town, and it was, kind of a disappointment (compared to the years 2009 and 2010). In fact, it was only one truck, placed on a, what I call, a carnival and not a Christmas market, between a Ferris wheel and a roller coaster. But after they completely skipped the last year, it was at least something.
The french artist group Citè Crèation is well known around the world, in Berlin, they’ve created the Solar Flytrap mural I wrote about last year. But not only that, they also painted 3 other houses located directly at the Sonnenallee, house numbers 207-209.
So the German Red Black Carpet Premiere of the last Twilight Movie, Breaking Dawn Part 2 (ger: Breaking Dawn – Bis(s) zum Ende der Nacht: Teil 2), took place in Berlin today Friday 16th, 2012. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and director Bill Condon walked the carpet signing autographs.
I should have learned from last year, going to a Twilight Premiere, with taking pictures in mind, without having an accreditation to access the almighty press area is.. a war, a war against thousands of screaming, almost crying, fans that camped for up to 18 hours to get the best spot to meet their beloved actors.
Somehow I survived… and I also managed to take some pictures to describe the event.
Activison-Blizzard invited me to the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Launch Party in Berlin, and because I’m a fan of the Call of Duty franchise since they released their first title back in 2003, I was excited to play and test the newest installment of the series.
Adam Rosas, the Lead Cinematics Animator and Motion Capture Director was there to talk with the guests and to sign all the bought copies of the game after the sale started at 0.00 GMT+1.
Another German Premiere took place in Berlin, CLOUD ATLAS (ger: Der Wolkenatlas), with Tom Hanks and Halle Berry together with Hugo Weaving, Doona Bae, Ben Whishaw, James D’Arcy, the directors Tom Tykwer and Andy & Lana Wachowskiand, plus the producers Stefan Arndt and Grant Hill. So this time, the red carpet was filled with celebrities.
CLOUD Atlas is a science fiction drama movie adaptation from the 2004 novel of the same name by David Mitchell. It is, with a budget of $102 million, one of the most expensive independent films of all time and the most expensive German movie production ever made. The movie was filmed in Studio Babelsberg in Germany near Berlin.
The German Premiere of Skyfall, the newest Movie of the James Bond franchise, took place yesterday, Tuesday 30th, at the Potsdamer Platz Theater in Berlin with James Bond actor Daniel Craig, bond girl Bérénice Marlohe, director Sam Mendes and producer Barbara Broccoli.
