Best of Berlin 2013

It’s 2014, welcome to a new year of exciting and interesting events and festivals in Berlin!

But let’s remember what happened last year, while movie premieres clearly dominated the year of 2013 and traditional events like the Green Week, St Patrick‚Äôs Day or the Oberbaum Bridge Water Fight were back in town, Berlin also had a good variety of new events, like the celebration of HOLI in Germany, President Barack Obama’s visit to Berlin, the European Kendo Championships or David Hasselhoff’s attempt to save the wall.

GamesCom 2013

Gamescom 2013 is over and after a wonderful week in Cologne, I’m back in Berlin.

This year, over 340,000 gamers, trade visitors and journalists visited the largest computer and video games trade fair worldwide. Over 635 exhibitors from 40 countries presented 400 world premiers, including for the first time in history two new consoles – PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

And don’t let the pictures below fool you, the only day it was “empty” was on press-day, the picture above pretty much tells you everything.

Playstation Vita Launch-Event Berlin


Sony’s new Handheld, the PlayStation Vita will be available tomorrow in every store in Germany, but the launch party was held today at Sony Center, Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. People who bought the PS-Vita today, got an extra free Launch-Day-Bundle, which contains a 4GB memory card, blue PS-Vita earbuds and 3 downloadable games (via PSN): Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Little Deviants and WipEout 2048.

The first customer who bought a Vita today, was photographed and interviewed by the local press, after that, all of the about 250 waiting gamers were able to get hands on their very own console.
