Gamescom 2013 is over and after a wonderful week in Cologne, I’m back in Berlin.
This year, over 340,000 gamers, trade visitors and journalists visited the largest computer and video games trade fair worldwide. Over 635 exhibitors from 40 countries presented 400 world premiers, including for the first time in history two new consoles – PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
And don’t let the pictures below fool you, the only day it was “empty” was on press-day, the picture above pretty much tells you everything.
I spent the last week in Cologne, to visit this year’s gamescom (fourth time now without visiting the Cologne Cathedral, next time for sure!) and like last year I got invited by different developers and publishers to watch a couple of presentations about upcoming games.
As always, to get more information about your favorite games, just visit the different gaming websites.
I also took some time to walk around and take some photos, most of them are from the press day, the public days this year were just too crowded.
GamesCom 2011 is over with a new record of 275.000 visitors (254.000 in 2010) and I’m finally back in Berlin. I had a lot of fun and it was really interesting talking to the different developers, publishers, news agencies, magazines and fan-websites about upcoming and released games. I also took a lot of pictures during my time in Cologne and after you’ve seen the press day, here are the remaining ones from this year’s public days.
Welcome to the World’s largest trade fair and event highlight for interactive games and entertainment, with 550 exhibitors (500 in 2010) and almost 40 countries (33 in 2010) on 120.000 m² of floor space. Okay, enough with the numbers, here are the first pictures from this years press day at Gamescom Cologne 2011.
I’m finally back in Berlin and I’m really tired but I can say that this years GamesCom was quite interesting. I don’t think that I need to tell you about all these new games I’ve seen there, hundreds of gaming sites already did that for me, but what I can show you are the remaining photos I took during the last 3 days.
Today, I visited the GamesCom in Cologne, Europe’s leading convention for PC and console games with nearly 400 exhibitors from all over the world. In the past, the GamesCom, former GamesConvention, was held in Leipzig. Because of its raising popularity since 2001, the exhibition halls at Leipzig were too small to handle the massive amount of visitors.
It’s 2014, welcome to a new year of exciting and interesting events and festivals in Berlin!
But let’s remember what happened last year, while movie premieres clearly dominated the year of 2013 and traditional events like the Green Week, St Patrick’s Day or the Oberbaum Bridge Water Fight were back in town, Berlin also had a good variety of new events, like the celebration of HOLI in Germany, President Barack Obama’s visit to Berlin, the European Kendo Championships or David Hasselhoff’s attempt to save the wall.
The year 2013 in Pictures.
