Parrot Bebop Drone Event Berlin

Apparently, drones are the new thing and they are getting more and more popular around the globe. The French wireless products manufacturer Parrot hosted an event, to celebrate the German launch of its newest product, the Bebop Drone, on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at the Tempelhof Airport in Berlin.

We got invited to test-drive the new drone, flying through the check-in hall of Europe’s largest historical monument, controlling the drone whether with a tablet, the sky-controller or a Virtual Reality Headset.

Jason Segel’s Nightmares!

Jason Segel, multitalented actor, writer, and musician, teamed up with New York Times bestselling author Kirsten Miller for his first middle-grade novel, Nightmares! (en)Die Schrecken der Nacht! (de) and to promote his creation he attended an autograph-session at Hugendubel KaDeWe on November 17, 2014 in Berlin.

The book is the first one in a trilogy about a boy named Charlie and a group of kids who must face their fears to save their town.

25 Years Fall of the Berlin Wall Celebration

From November 7 – 9, 2014, the city of Berlin celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. A symbolic frontier of lights, the LICHTGRENZE, a line of 8,000 illuminated helium balloons along the 15 kilometer long path once occupied by the Berlin Wall, divided the city once again.

From the Oberbaumbrücke and its East Side Gallery, through Checkpoint Charlie, the Potsdamer Platz and Brandenburger Tor, up to the Bernauer Straße and Bornholmer Straße, which was, on November 9, 1989, the first checkpoint allowing people to pass through freely to West Berlin.

On November 9, all balloons were released into the Berlin night sky accompanied by the Staatskapelle Berlin playing “Ode An die Freude“.

Festival of Lights 2014

Again this year and for the tenth time now, the Festival of Lights and the Berlin Shines Festival took place during the first three weeks in October.

National as well as international artists presented light installations which transformed the city into a huge stage, numerous landmarks, historical places, streets and other important buildings throughout the city were illuminated with different colors and videos.

The Fall of the Wall Exhibition Berlin

This year on November 09, Berlin will celebrate 25 years fall of the Berlin Wall. In preparation for this big event, the Potsdamer Platz Arkaden are hosting an exhibition about the Wall, the old GDR (DDR) times and the life in a city divided by stone.

Learn about the construction of the wall on August 13, 1961 – the life with and behind a wall, the diversity between east and west and the fall of the wall on November 09, 1989 – the Exhibition not only features a variety of photographs but also various historical objects.

IFA14 – Consumer Electronics Unlimited

The world‘s leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, the “Internationale Funkausstellung (International Radio Show)” or just IFA 2014 took place in Berlin this week.

Over 1000 exhibitors from over 30 countries presented a comprehensive display of consumer electronic products and services. Smartphones, Smart Watches, Smart TVs and Smart Washing Machines, this year with completely new buzzwords like “4k“, “UHD” and “Curved TV“.

Sex Tape German Premiere Berlin

The German Premiere of Sex Tape took place on Friday, September 6, 2014 in Berlin’s Sony Center, with actress Cameron Diaz and actor Jason Segel.

They both play a couple which discovers, that their self made sex tape was accidentally uploaded to the cloud and sent to various tablets, leading to a series of awkward encounters and close calls.
