Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper attended today’s German Premiere of director David O. Russell’s newest movie American Hustle, the premiere was part of the “Berlinale Special” Section, where the festival shows new and extraordinary productions and honors great cinema personalities by showing their films.
The Berlin international film festival, or Berlinale 2014, started today with a grand opening, the world premiere of The Grand Budapest Hotel.
Members of the movie’s cast, like Bill Murray, Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Willem Dafoe, Edward Norton, Saoirse Ronan and many more, together with this year’s International Jury, which will decide who will receive the Golden Bear and Silver Bears of the 2014 Berlinale Competition, were today’s special guests.
Whenever there is International Green Week (ger: Grüne Woche), the world of food, agriculture and horticulture gathers in Berlin and every time, there is something interesting to discover.
While Berlin offers a huge variety of international gastronomic specialties throughout the city, the International Green Week offers the opportunity to taste and buy everything at one place.

But let’s remember what happened last year, while movie premieres clearly dominated the year of 2013 and traditional events like the Green Week, St Patrick’s Day or the Oberbaum Bridge Water Fight were back in town, Berlin also had a good variety of new events, like the celebration of HOLI in Germany, President Barack Obama’s visit to Berlin, the European Kendo Championships or David Hasselhoff’s attempt to save the wall.

The movie adaptation of the bestselling novel The Physician (de: Der Medicus) celebrated its World Premiere today, December 16, 2013 in Berlin.
The cast, consisting of Stellan Skarsgård, Tom Payne, Emma Rigby, Olivier Martinez, Elyas M’Barek, Dominique Moore, Fahri Yardim, Adam Thomas Wright together with director Philipp Stölzl were today’s special guests.
The newly reopened Zoo Palast was chosen to be the venue for this German production movie premiere.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (de: Das erstaunliche Leben des Walter Mitty), the movie adaptation of the 1939 released short story by James Thurber, celebrated its German Premiere today, December 11, 2013, in Berlin, at the newly reopened Zoo Palast.
Director Ben Stiller, who also plays the role of Walter Mitty and co-actress Kristen Wiig walked the carpet.
The European Premiere of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (de: Der Hobbit – Smaugs Einöde) took place on Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Sony Center in Berlin. It was the biggest premiere Berlin ever had with a 160m long red carpet and fans and press from all over Europe.
Director Peter Jackson together with Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lilly, Luke Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Sylvester McCoy, Mikael Persbrandt, Aidan Turner, Ken Stott, James Nesbitt, Adam Brown, Graham McTavish, Dean O’Gorman, Ryan Gage, John Bell and even Ed Sheeran, singer and songwriter of the theme song “I See Fire” walked the carpet.
The Playstation 4 will launch tomorrow in Europe, but today, Sony Computer Entertainment hosted a huge Party and an exclusive pre-sale in the middle of the Sony Center in Berlin.
